Arts In Education

K.S. J.A.M.M. Dance Troupe provides Arts in Education programs for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Arts in Education programs are designed to promote physical and mental health, as well as build a healthier immune system. Arts in Education programs provide students with an educational, energetic, motivational and fun program that combines learning new choreography while working on flexibility, stretching and technique in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, African and Hip Hop.

As an extension to the academic classroom, students will learn terms and techniques through lessons, demonstration and execution of choreography. Lessons are developed using the New York City Department of Education’s Blue Print curriculum, which provides a standardized rigorous approach to teaching the arts. Students study one genre of dance every 10 weeks with a mid-year and an end of year performance.

Outcomes

Students will develop and cultivate their interest in dance through instruction. With exposure to various genres of dance that help build their self-esteem, confidence, leadership and social skills, students will experience a fostering environment free of bullying, intimidation, or harassment.
